Note: Inexpensive imported doll house kits are made of die cut balsa or luan wood. Balsa splits & splinters easily. It is the same material used to make cheap model airplane gliders. Die cut means it is stamped into a large piece of thin wood similar to a cookie cutter. This method requires the buyer to laboriously punch out each piece. Often it does not punch out easily and a knife & sandpaper are needed to finish the piece.
